TRANSFORMERS - not much more than meets the eye

I caught a showing of Transformers last night and... It's alright
It is visually stunning; interesting storyline, but it just fails to deliver that "AMAZING" kind of feel. Sure, its chock full of pop-culture jokes and current events (jokes about Bush, Ebay, the Internet, etc.). I dunno, entirely possible that college student aged people are not the demographic being targetted but I kinda feel like we should be if its a movie about an old cartoon series and whatnot that we were exposed to growing up. Lots of young faces in this movie; pretty clear throughout that they did this whole "kids can save the world" moti, Empowering us youngsters and all.

I give it 3 stars out of 5. Its an alright movie; but nothing spectacular.
